Today I've been able to upgrade my Sony Ericsson Xperia x10 phone from Android OS 2.1 to 2.3.3 as usual after taking a backup of all my contacts, apps, messages, etc. But after the upgrade there is no Backup & Restore application in the system that was in the 2.1 OS. As they have mentioned I tried MyBackup application to do the restoration, but it didn't able to read the sbf file. So I have no way of taking back my contacts from that sbf binary file.
While searching on the net I found few forums having the old Backup & Restoring application shared as a solution for my situation (while blaming on SE not to include the application).
If you also in the same situation, I have shared those sites for further information.

Backup & Restore application will be found in the 2.1 version, in the higher versions it won't be found..
ReplyDeleteso what u need to do is .. install the "OI File Manager" from the Google market or Google Playstore..
next download the app(Backup & Restore) into local machine or laptop for the below link
"http://www.elita-clan.com/downloads/backup_and_restore_v010935.apk"
copy this apk file to sd card (mobile memory card)
now browse it through "OI File Manager" and click the apk file to install in the mobile.
Once it got successfully installed you can start it so that it will prompt you for the .sbf file for restore.. choose the appropriate file and click ok. It will restore all the data which you have backed up...
I followed the same way it worked for me..
